Membership

Service, Trust, Honor, and Ethics.

Whether you’re interested in Fire Fighting or other Volunteer opportunities, we would love to have you join our team! To become a member of the Arvin Hart Fire Company, stop by and pick up our Membership Application in person at Station 1 on Wednesday nights, or download the application here. Fill out the application and bring it to any of our stations on Wednesday nights. You’ll need to obtain the sponsorship of three of our current members. Once signed by three sponsors, turn the application in to the Secretary or President.

Your application will be presented to the entire membership at a monthly meeting, which takes place on the second Wednesday of each month.  At the meeting, the application will be read and tabled for 30 days by a motion of the members. You will then be called into an interview by the Trustees to review your application along with company policies and procedures.  At the next monthly meeting following your interview and upon completion of all the other necessary information along with a physical the Trustees will make a recommendation to the fire company and they will vote on your membership.  If accepted your application needs to be approved by the Board of Fire Commissioners, upon their approval you will need to sign the official company log book and you will be placed on roles of the volunteer firefighter benefit program (workers compensation program) administered by Saratoga County.

Each new member must complete approved training within one year.  All new members will become Exterior Firefighters and must complete the Basic Fire Operations course (BFO) and those who chose to be interior firefighters can go on to take the Interior Firefighting Operations course (IFO).Course.
